"Europe's security demands a new level of partnership with Ukraine" — Oleksandra Azarkhina

"The creation of an International Defence Procurement Agency (IDPA) is a necessary step forward not only for supporting Ukraine but for Europe itself. Today, it is more critical than ever to significantly strengthen our collective deterrence posture—to show that attacking Europe is not viable, as it is equipped and ready for war" explained Oleksandra Azarkhina, Head of the Defence Industries Initiatives at the ESCU, during her speech at the 'Defending Europe's Future' conference in Copenhagen, organized by Tænketanken EUROPA.

According to her, ad-hoc aid and informal agreements cannot win a war of attrition. Meanwhile, IDPA can become a transparent instrument for implementing large-scale projects that will strengthen the security of the entire continent.

"For example, an ambitious project like the 'Drone Wall' will be practically impossible to build without battle-proven Ukrainian technologies. Therefore, the time has come to move to an institutional commitment for both Ukraine and our partners," Oleksandra added.
