Roundtable: Ukraine’s Integration into the European Defence Industry Market

The Economic Security Council of Ukraine(ESCU), together with the EU Defence Innovation Office at the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, is pleased to invite you to a high-level roundtable: Ukraine’s Integration into the European Defence Industry Market.

This event will unite policymakers, experts, and industry leaders to discuss the future of Ukraine's export-control system and its alignment with EU standards.

Date & Time: September 17, 10:00 AM

Location: Lviv, Ukraine (within the international investment summit, Defence Tech Valley)

Registration: https://forms.gle/z8jQiudpd8ahiHVw7

Please note: A ticket to the Defence Tech Valley summit is required for participation

Key topics for discussion:

  • Assessing the current export-control system: Addressing wartime challenges and balancing strict requirements with the need to expand Ukraine's defence industry.
  • Impact of new initiatives: Analysing how state programs like Build with Ukraine and Defense City are shaping the regulatory landscape.
  • Access to international programs: Removing barriers to integrate into the EU ecosystem and unlocking access to funding instruments such as SAFE, International Fund for Ukraine, EDFIS, and DIANA.
  • Practical experience: Discussing real-world cases of export, import, and international cooperation.

The roundtable will be joined by representatives from the EU Defence Innovation Office, NATO Representation in Ukraine, and the Embassies of Denmark and Poland. We also expect participants from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the State Export Control Service, other government and diplomatic institutions, as well as leading manufacturers' associations, and Ukrainian and foreign companies.

The event is part of the Defence Tech Valley Investment Summit, held on September 16–17 in Lviv. The summit will gather over 5,000 experts from 40+ countries to discuss innovative technologies in global defence.
