“Cooperation with trusted partners is essential to countering Russian cyber aggression. We therefore greatly value Estonia’s support. At the same time, Ukraine must continue strengthening its own digital infrastructure — and the Tallinn Mechanism has already become an almost indispensable tool in this effort,” said Ilona Khmeleva, Secretary of the Economic Security Council of Ukraine (ESCU), during a meeting with Tiina Intelmann, Ambassador of Estonia to Ukraine.
The meeting took place during a session of the Trusted Tech Caucus in the Ukrainian Parliament. Representatives of the Tallinn Mechanism also joined the discussion, including Toomas Tirs, Adviser on Cooperation, Reconstruction and Cybersecurity, and Robert Derevski, Adviser on Economic and Political Affairs.
“The Estonian Embassy reaffirmed its consistent support for Ukraine, including in the areas of technology and cybersecurity, and outlined priorities for preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2027, to be held in Tallinn in January. IT and technology are expected to serve as a cross-cutting theme of the conference. This is a strategically sound choice: reconstruction, investment, security and European integration all directly depend on digital infrastructure,” said Trusted Tech Caucus Co-Chair Pavlo Frolov summarizing the meeting.
