Ukraine’s parliament launched global tech cooperation platform

“We Ukrainians understand Russia far better and have significantly broader access to information. It is essential to share this knowledge and to build platforms for international cooperation. One recent example is the inter-factional parliamentary association in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine — the Platform for Tech Diplomacy of Ukraine — which brings together 16 members of parliament,” said Dr. Ilona Khmeleva, Secretary of the Economic Security Council of Ukraine (ESCU) on United News telethon.

The group of lawmakers will work on developing legal norms in the areas of artificial intelligence, cloud services, cyber sanctions and export controls on advanced technologies for Ukraine.

The Platform will also join the Global Trusted Tech Network, an international coalition coordinated by the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. Participation in the initiative will allow Ukraine to share its experience in countering aggression and to take a leading role in shaping global digital security standards.
